The most essential relationship in the Christian Life is the pursuit of INTIMACY WITH GOD. God's Word makes it abundantly clear that God pursues us. Yet the great tragedy in Christian culture today is that while God pursues us, many do not pursue Him. We believe that the only way to truly live this life for Christ... is to surrender control of your life to God, pursue a daily intimate relationship with Him and live in the strength and power of the Holy Spirit each day. (Galatians 2:20)
Spiritual growth in the life of a believer is most effective when they are connected relationally with other believers. God designed for us to be in COMMUNITY WITH BELIEVERS for the purposes of relationship, spiritual growth, accountability and mutual encouragement. No one is meant to do the Christian Life alone. That is why we believe helping people find community with others at Westgate Chapel is an essential part of our ministry. (Acts 2:42-47)
It is not possible to truly follow Christ and not have a passion for having INFLUENCE WITH NON-BELIEVERS. Too many people in the church have ignored this truth though the spread of the Gospel message was the very heart of our Savior. We believe that a person who is truly pursuing Intimacy with God will be passionate about pursuing others with the Great News of Jesus Christ. It is our desire that the community of believers at Westgate Chapel will passionately embrace this core truth and mission that God set before us... that we would be active in leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 3:15)
