A Note From Crys Tipton - Founder of Widow to Widow
This group started because I suddenly, like some of you, found myself alone.
As a new widow, I was being showered with the blessings of others caring for me. Those who were widows listened and were not surprised as I shared the facts and fears of this new life. Those friends who were not widows were honest about their inability to completely relate.
Widows can recount the exact experience, down to the minute facts, of the first time they had to deal with something unexpected and the fear they felt as they began this new life journey... one they did not volunteer to be on.
Those who had already experienced years of this difficult life were encouraging. And through them, I could see that I would be able to get through this.
I decided early on that when I became stronger and if God continued putting this desire within me, that I would try to get a group of Westgate women together who found themselves in this same situation, so they could gather and strengthen each other.
And here we are!
What We Will Work to Provide
Exactly what we all need... love, encouragement, teaching, and...hopefully...some fun!
What We Hope to Offer
...A comfortable, relaxed place where you can come, be yourself, share your fears, your concerns, and then... your victories!
What We Will Work to Accomplish
Help women heal from what feels like "the impossible", help women feel strengthened and empowered and less fearful.
When and Where?
We try to meet monthly, at the first part of the month, and also for activities sometime during the month, as well. We usually meet at Westgate Chapel, and sometimes we'll meet there and go somewhere else. We also do a Sunday monthly lunch!
And the Results Will Be...
Women who can face tomorrow. Women who can "pay it forward" by: Reaching out to other women new to this thing called widowhood. Giving back by serving others in the church and "in the streets"
