missions emphasis week - oct 6-13, 2024

T O T H E H A R V E S T

In The Alliance, we take seriously Jesus’ commission to make disciples of all nations. This is who we are—a collective of believers and churches united around obedience to God’s mission and our part in it, whether we go or send. Westgate's annual Missions Emphasis Week is a rally of how we participate in God's mission!

Straight out of Mark 4:26-29, we learn what the Kingdom of God is like this—a man scatters seed generously in a field. As time passes, God works underground to make the seeds sprout and grow. When lives are transformed by Christ, the harvest comes bearing fruit, with enough seeds to plant the next field. God's people sow, pray over, and harvest empty, neglected fields and then move on to others, and others—until there are no more empty or unplowed fields. Until all the world hears and our King returns.

We will have special happenings during each of the Sunday morning services on 10/6 and 10/13, as well as opportunities to go deeper all week long!

 

CHURCHWIDE EVENTS

Meet and Greet with International Workers

SUNDAYS, OCTOBER 6 and 13- AFTER SERVICES

• Join us for global snacks in the WCafe. International workers W+E from Central Asia will be available to share their experiences and answer any questions you may have on 10/6. The Browns from Latin America will be available on 10/13.

Missions Prayer Experience

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 9, 6-8:30PM

• We have a special evening planned for all ages! Enjoy a variety of global appetizers and music in the Atrium. At 6:30, we will head out to spaces throughout the church to engage in multiple prayer experiences. You don’t want to miss this event!

Seniors – Keenagers

• For our Seniors 55+, join us at our monthly gathering to hear from the Browns in the Gym.

Women's Brunch

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12, 10-11:30am

• Elisa will be speaking about her ministry and experiences as an International Worker. All women and girls of any age are welcome to join us in the Refinery! If you’d like to serve or contribute a brunch item, sign up here!

++ SPOTLIGHT SPEAKERS ++

W + E are international workers sent from their country to serve in a nearby Central Asian country, referred to as Teahouse. They have been working in community development for the last 13 years, as well as connecting with the underground church there. W +E have seen God at work in some pretty amazing ways and are excited to share their stories with our Westgate family!

Rich and Elisa will join our events on October 8. The Browns are Alliance workers who founded and lead Inca Link International, with the mission to reach the 300 million youth in Latin America with Christ's love. Their service with Inca Link includes Evangelism, Discipleship, Training Leaders, Connecting people, and supporting compassion ministries.

They currently are living a nomadic life, traveling between the eight different IL countries for a month at a time, and connecting with their four adult children and two grandchildren. They love every time they get an opportunity to return to Westgate!
